Have you ever wondered why you can make a call standing outside of a building but once inside you get poor reception or drop the call entirely? The number one disrupter of cell phone signal is the building materials used.
As you can see from the following chart, the low-e glass used in most new construction cuts the signal by 30dB. Every 3dB of gain you lose cuts your cell signal in half. This is why a building under construction may have a decent signal, but once the glass is added the signal is cut off.
